Wirbelkammer-Dieselmotor Typ EM4-20, 4-Zylinder ( Reihe ), 6024cm³, Wassergekühlt, unsynchronisiertes 5-Gang Getriebe, Höchstgeschwindigkeiz: 60km/h, Das Nachfolgemodell des H3 war der LKW H3A. Er wurde zur Leipziger Frühjahrsmesse 1949 der Öffentlickeit vorgestellt und von Mitte 1950 bis 1956 im Zwickauer VEB Kraftfahrzeugwerk HORCH zunächst als Pritschenwagen gebaut. Der H3A war eine komplette Neuentwicklung in der Auslegung als Langhauber mit Dieselmotor. Die Entwicklung des Dieselmotors geht auf eine VOMAG-Entwicklung zurück.Zur Leipziger Frühjahrsmesse erschien der H3A als Sattelzugmaschine mit Tanksattelauflieger, weitere Varianten wie Dreiseitenkipper, Viehtranspotwagen, Straßenzugmaschine, Tankwagen sowie mit Spezialaufbauten für Post und DRK, als auch als Möbelkoffer. Auf Basis des H3A-Fahrgestells wurden im LOWA-Werk Bautzen ca. 180 Fronlenkerbusse H3B hergestellt. Das Haupteinsatzgebiet lag vorwiegend im zivilen Sektor, aber auch bei der Volkspolizei, bzw. bei der kasernierten Volkspolizei, später NVA wurde der H3A eingesetzt, Ex Dörr Spedition, Irrtum vorbehalten!
